Dennis Smith, LCPC

Dennis is a 1985 graduate of Oakland City University with a Bachelor's degree in Christian Education. He received his Master's in Psychological Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University in 1990.

He has served ten years in Associate Pastoral roles in the areas of Youth and Christian Education. In addition, he worked in a community mental health center in Sikeston, Missouri for approximately four years. Dennis has been in practice in Olathe since 1991. He is a licensed clinical professional counselor in Kansas, and the licensed clinical social worker is a Missouri license. Dennis was certified as a Couples' Communication instructor in 1993 by Interpersonal Communications Programs of Denver, and completed advanced training in 1994. Dennis has completed Level 1 training of The Gottman Institute method of couples therapy.

He is a trained Prepare-Enrich facilitator and a trained Great-Start pre-marital program facilitator. Dennis was named to Who's Who Among America Colleges and Universities in 1984, and as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1985 and 1996.

He is an experienced teacher, speaker, and retreat facilitator. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Kansas Counselors Association.

Dennis has been married thirty years and has two adult children. He enjoys being a dad and husband, woodworking, photography, auto mechanics, camping, reading and visiting lighthouses.
